About

The focus of this blog is on reading and books for emerging readers. I will maintain a separate blog for technology, information skills and general ramblings here.
Periodically I will post an index so you can search the book reviews.
So who am I? I’ve worked for over 20 years in Michigan school libraries in Williamston, Morenci, East Lansing, and Holland before coming to Portage. I briefly taught junior high English and spent a year and a half as the Technology Coordinator in Holland. I received my Masters in Library Science from Wayne State University, received my undergraduate degree in English at the University of Michigan and graduated from Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio.
I’ve been active in professional organizations serving on book selection committees for the American Library Association and co-edited the Michigan Association for Media in Education’s professional journal, Media Spectrum, for five years.
My wife and I are looking forward to being in the Kalamazoo area along with our two daughters who live for the theater and the swimming pool.
