Their grandfather knows it is a kelpie or water horse from Scottish legend. Crusoe quickly outgrows the bathtub, the pond out back, and must be taken to Loch Ness where it soon becomes famous all over the world.

Even if you know what happens, this is fun to read. It looks like some of the characters have been changed for the movie.

This is actually the second book of a five book fantasy series. Like Harry Potter, Will Stanton’s 11th birthday brings surprising revelations about magical powers. Birthday presents include a belt of magic symbols and a strange and wonderful horned mask. Hopefully the other books in the series will also be made into movies.
